English law. What will give its application in the legal system of Uzbekistan and the training of legal professionals?

This issue was the focus of the participants of the international conference “International Trends in Legal Practice: Application of English Common Law”.

The conference, which held on January 30 in Tashkent, was organized by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Tashkent State University of Law together with the University of Law (ULaw) of Great Britain and the British Embassy in Tashkent.

The event involved leading legal scholars of the country, representatives of various ministries and agencies, national and foreign experts in English law and legal education, representatives of prominent international companies and mass media.

Speaking at the conference, the Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Khudayer Meliyev, mentioned the importance of legal reforms and the role of foreign experience in their implementation at the present stage of development of Uzbekistan, improvement of mechanisms for applying international trends in the national legal system.

At the conference Deputy Minister of Justice also emphasized the need for their effective application in legal practice.

Present at the event was also, Rector of the Law University of Great Britain Andrea Nollent, Deputy Minister of Justice - Rector of Tashkent State Law University Rakhim Hakimov, head of the Academy of the General Prosecutors office of the Republic of Uzbekistan Yevgeny Kolenko and other speakers noted that improving legal practice is primarily related to the training of legal personnel and the need to conduct large-scale reforms in the field of legal education.

The conference also became a platform for the discussions and experience with legal practitioners in the field of English law.

Participants discussed the implementation of reform in the field of legal education in Uzbekistan, trends in improving legal education in the country and prospects for its development.

As has been noted, the establishment of the University of the University of International Law in Tashkent will provide a deepen study of English law, which will allow implement positive aspects of English law into the national legal system, bring international standards and improve the quality of legal education in the country.

Eventually, the participants developed suggestions and recommendations for further improving of legal education and legal practice in Uzbekistan, taking into account the principles of English common law, an agreement was reached on the development of long-term plans in this direction.
